One of Tuscany’s most underrated towns.
Its known for its industrial area and for the harbor from where leaves the ferry for Sardinia and for Elba.
But Piombino is a lot more.
The town hides spots of rare beauty, worth to be discovered. A must is Piazza Bovio, one of very few squares in Europe surrounded by the sea on three sides.
From this square you have an outstanding view, and Elba just opposite the square. Piombino’s sea front promenade is absolutely worth a walk or a bike ride.
Do not forget to visit the characteristic town center: town hall, tower and the picturesque alleys.
